All years twos braved the rain this morning to take part in a multi sport event. We had a go at a number of different activities and had a little competition between our groups to see who could challenge themselves to most.
Well done to everyone!
Multi sport competition
Maths through art
We have had a great few days producing our maths through art. Mrs Brown’s class used the image Carnival of Harlequin to inspire our patterns. We then produced them on our own cubes. We are all very proud of our end results.
StreetBeat Dance
Today we have been lucky enough to have Julie and Hayley from StreetBeat here to complete dance workshops with all the children in school.
They taught us a street dance routine which was very fast but great fun!
If you are interested in doing more street dance or any other type of dance with StreetBeat, have a look at their website www.streetbeatdanceandfitness.co.uk
Sport! Sport! Sport!
Last Tuesday we all took part in our KS1 and FS sports afternoon. Well done to all who took part, you all tried very hard and did very well.
This week is National Sport Week so we will all be taking part in at least an hour of sport each day. Please make sure your p.e. Kit is in school on Monday ready for use all week.
Keep posted for photographs of what we get up to!
Commonwealth Dance
Yesterday all of Key Stage One took part in some dance workshops. Each class learnt a dance from a different Commonwealth country. It was great fun!
This photo shows Mrs Brown’s class learning their dance from Ghana.
Open afternoon
It was lovely to see so many parents at our open afternoon yesterday. In Mrs Brown’s room everyone got very involved in all of the minibeast maths activities. We even challenged the parents!
Zoolab Visit
Today we have had a visit from Barry at Zoolab. He came to school with lots of visitors in a big box! He told us many facts all about the minibeasts and the snake.
Which was your favourite creature? Did you hold it? What facts can you remember about it?
Open afternoon
Don’t forget it is the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 open afternoon next Thursday 12th June. Encourage your Mums and Dads and other family members to come along and have a look at our Commonwealth and minibeast learning.
Commonwealth Games
We have been discussing the Commonwealth, which countries are members and what it means to be a member.
We have had some very mature discussions about what it means to be fair and not to discriminate.
Can you remember any of the Commonwealth countries?
