A huge thank you to all who donated food items to our harvest collection. Look at the amazing amount that was donated to Lincoln Food Bank!
Harvest Maths!
We used the fruit and vegetables from the harvest service within our maths when we got back to school.
In our groups we worked out how much each item weighed in cubes and we wrote these on the board. We then had to use our addition skills to work out how much two of the items would weigh together.
Super calculating and weighing was seen!!
Our Harvest Service
What a lovely visit we had to the church this morning.
The year 2s who presented the service were fantastic and the rainbow they produced was beautiful!
We have made bird seed cakes.
We have been weighing this week in maths. As part of out science and PSHE we have been thinking about how to keep ourselves and other animals healthy. To link both together we have weighed out ingredients to make seed cakes to keep the birds outside healthy this winter.
We hope they like them!!!
Our finished poems.
At the beginning of the week we told you we were learning all about poetry this week. Well, here are some of our finished poems. They are amazing and we are very proud of them.
We’ve gone shape crazy!
All our maths learning this week has been about shapes, look at some of the things we have been doing.
Look at our corn dollies!
We have learnt today about the tradition of corn dollies and why Christians many years ago started making them.
Can you explain to your grown up what this tradition is?
Look at some of our corn dolly designs.
Poetry
Within literacy this week we are reading, performing and writing different types of poetry.
Have you read any poetry at home? What is your favourite poem?
Scientists!
Today we have found out what a food chain is. We have made our own food chains with the plasticine and are in the process of filming an explanation about what happens within the food chain.
