This week we have been learning about the Gingerbread man. We started our week by baking Gingerbread. We had to follow the instructions carefully!
Our plants are starting to grow!

Designing our own villages.
We have been learning about what features and amenities there are in different places. We have discussed physical and human features within Waddington and are using these features to design our own villages. We have even added our own keys!
Gingerbread men
We have been baking gingerbread men this week to activate our literacy learning.
We crumbled the ingredients.
We weighed the ingredients.
The children chose sweets to use for the decorations and glued them on with icing.
The children then used the photos as prompts to write instructions for making gingerbread.
Planting seeds
We want to the poly tunnel to get soil, seeds and pots so that we could plant seeds.
We took them back to the classroom where we watered them. We will be closely watching them to see how they grow.
Book Fair competition
Our bookfair will be back in school during the last week of term. It will run from Tues 9th-Thurs 11th February.
The competition this term is to design a book mark which shows your love of reading. The criteria are:
High quality presentation
Original ideas
A clear ‘love reading’ theme.
The deadline for entries is Friday 5th February. The winner will receive a £5 voucher to spend at the book fair.
Planting seeds
This term in Science we are learning about how things grow. The children have planted their seeds and will be giving the plants water to see how they grow.
Visiting the Baron!
This week we were very lucky to have the baron from the food bank to visit our school.
The children loved seeing their photo of them with the Barons on the display!
